Adding a new prospect

Updated over a year ago

This article will guide you through the start-to-finish process of adding a new prospect to Firmcheck. Navigate to your firm's Prospects tab.

Ensure you're in Prospects, and select the "+ Add prospect" menu at the top right of the page.

1. Create, Search or Import

Manually create a new party

If the party is new, you can manually create it.

  • Country (United Kingdom is the default)

  • Type of party

    • Individual, Company, Trust, Partnership, LP, LLP Estate and Other

    • If a Company or Trust are selected, then an additional type of entity is available.

  • Name

Search for an existing party

If the person is already set up in Firmcheck, you can search for them

Import from another system

If the party exists in Companies House, you can search for the entity.

An important aspect of due diligence for a firm doing AML is the status or the liquidity of the Company appearing during the import process, showing immediately that the company is dissolved could possibly raise the risk factors.

Also, Accountants and other parties may work on liquated companies, so the ability to import the entity streamlines the process as opposed to creating the company manually.

Select the Company and click > Next step

2. Contact Details

In the Management section, you can do the following:

  • Email address

  • Website

  • Phone number (Primary and Other)

This information can also be updated in Contact details within the Profile tab once the entity is added.

Select +Add to complete adding the entity into Firmcheck.
