Firmcheck allows you to do a PEP and Sanctions-only check on your client.
If the party is linked with multiple entities, we recommend that you merge any duplicate contacts before undertaking a biometric verification check. See our support article on the People Tab for guidance on how to do this.
Tip: ensure the party is selected in CDD candidates
1. In the AML/CFT>Perform CDD tab within the Identity verification of the person click 'collect & verify'.
2. Click on Identity info under 'Firm only', and select 'Add evidence' or 'Collect evidence to start a new determination' if the ID has been previously uploaded.
3. Under the 'add electronic evidence' section, click on PEP and Sanctions check.
4. Complete all details in the request form - First, Middle, Last name, and Date of birth will auto-populate should the person already have this information in their Firmcheck profile.
Once details are completed select 'Submit check'.
PEP/Sanctions clear
When the PEP/Sanctions are clear, Firmcheck will update advising with a message.
Within the workflow, the ID evidence will show that a PEP and Sanactions check was done, with the message 'nothing found'
PEP/Sanctions match found
When the PEP/Sanctions returns a match, Firmcheck will update advising a match was found. A PDF will be available for review.
Once your investigation is complete, you can update the result by selecting the 3 dots and selecting 'view details'
Adding additional notes shows the appropriate due diligence in the event of a positive match.
Within the workflow, the ID evidence will show that a PEP and Sanactions check was done, with the message 'Found (was a PEP or on a Sanctions list)'
Override Result
On occasion, a false positive hit will result, Firmcheck gives firms the freedom to override the result in these situations.
This will allow you to action the following:
Add additional notes to supplement your investigation
Change result
This will update the PEP/Sanctions to clear.
