This is the first version of our bulk ID verification feature, with more iterations, filters, and functionality to follow.
Bulk verification allows you to request identity checks for all relevant individuals, such as directors and people with significant control (PSCs), at once, saving time and streamlining your compliance process.
To use the bulk verification feature, make sure that:
All your limited companies are added to Firmcheck.
Each relevant individual has an email address saved in their record.
Passport information is stored against the individual (either from a biometric check or a manually uploaded copy).
🚨 Important: A cryptographic check can only be completed using passport data. This means a biometric check must be completed first, or the client’s passport evidence must be manually added before issuing the check.
If you are an existing Firmcheck user and already have passport information saved against an individual (from a previous biometric check or uploaded copy), you can send a cryptographic check in bulk directly from the bulk import screen.
This allows you to request identity verification from all your clients at once, starting the Companies House ID verification process with minimal effort.
Navigate to Work > Verification requests.
At the top of the page, click Send your verification requests in bulk.
Firmcheck will automatically generate a list of individuals who meet the criteria for bulk verification.
The following individuals will be included:
All directors and PSCs linked to a company via Companies House and
Who do not have cryptographic evidence completed or in progress and
Those who do not have a personal code stored in Firmcheck.
💡Personal codes are unique identifiers issued by Companies House once an individual has been verified. These can be stored under the client profile in the Companies House Information section.
After selecting Next, you’ll see a list of all individuals who meet the criteria.
Any individuals without an email address will appear in a separate section, as verification requests cannot be sent without this information.
Review the list in the Ready tab.
Click Next to proceed.
On the next screen, confirm the checks you are sending:
✅ Cryptographic check – always required.
✅ Biometric check – optional (and required if passport information is not yet available).
💡 Cost details:
Cryptographic checks – Free as part of your subscription.
Biometric checks – £4 per completed check.
A cost summary will be displayed before you proceed.
Once you’re happy, click Send verification requests to initiate the process.
You can monitor and review the status of all bulk verification requests from the Verification Requests tab. Here you’ll see the progress of each request and can manage follow-ups as needed.
