Using Firmcheck's merge duplicate feature

Duplicate people can sometimes appear in Firmcheck after importing or adding clients, especially through Companies House records being pulled in. The merge tool lets you combine two individual records at a time while keeping all key information intact.

We recommend reviewing your People list regularly, especially after a bulk import, to ensure there arenโ€™t any new duplicates.

Limitations

  • Two individuals cannot be merged if both are selected as CDD candidates in the same in-progress AML check. You can de-select one candidate in the AML before merging.

  • Only two individuals can be merged at once.

What is automatically merged:

Verification status: automatically merged

AML status: automatically merged

Client connections: all connections from both records are preserved

Steps to merge

  1. Go to Clients > People.

  2. Click the Actions button and select Manage duplicates.

    • You can also filter the list using Show duplicate people to quickly find matches by first and last name.

  3. Select the two records you want to merge and click Manage duplicates.

  4. If any fields conflict (e.g. different email addresses), choose which value to keep.

  5. Review the preview of the final record and confirm the merge.

โš  Important: Merges cannot be undone.
