When you need an extra layer of security during your CDD process, biometric ID checks are a great option, especially for international clients.
With Firmcheck, you can run advanced ID checks using biometric technology. Your client uploads their own documents (like a passport or driver’s licence), and the tool:
Matches their face to the photo on their ID
Verifies key info like their name, date of birth, and address
Checks this info against trusted databases
It can even recognise and match documents from 193 countries, so it’s ideal if you’re working with clients overseas.
🔔 Heads up: Right now, Firmcheck doesn’t send alerts when a client finishes their check or when a check expires—but we’re working on adding that soon!
Want to see all your ID checks in one place?
Go to the Work tab and check the In Progress column; this shows everything currently underway.
Note:
If the client has an international address, we’ll skip the UK database check and continue with the rest of the verification.
These checks are powered by Bioverify, our trusted biometric ID partner.
In the completed biometric report, you will come across the below, stating 'chose not to check fields'
These occur as Firmcheck have elected not to check these fields with Bio-verify but instead checks these against APLYiD databases. You still have these checks performed and are visible by the green ticks seen in the client's profile.
Firmcheck is working on improving the reporting from biometric checks to avoid confusion.
